Sons of Italy in America Watsonville Lodge Scholarship  [$1,000-5,000]  Application due: 05/18/2012  Criteria: Must be of Italian heritage, must live within Santa Cruz County, +3.0 GPA.  Apply at: see Ms. Mora for an application

Healthy Living Scholarship [$5,000]  Application due: 05/30/2012  Criteria: Must be a US resident.  Contest based on two essays: 1). Why is a healthy lifestyle important in school? and 2). Abbott and Fenner Scholarship Program [$1,000]  Application due: 06/05/2012  Criteria: Available to all high school juniors and seniors.  Essay on "What was the most difficult time in your life, and why?  How did your perspective on life change as a result of this difficulty?".  Essay should be between 500-1000 words.  Apply at:http://www.abbottandfenner.com/scholarships.htm

Monterey Bay CAPCA Jose Luis Mandujano Memorial Scholarship  [$1,000]  Application due: 06/15/2012  Criteria: Must be pursuing a Bachelors or Associate Degree in Agriculture, be a resident of Monterey, Santa Cruz or San Benito County.  Apply at: see Ms. Mora for an application

Man Mac Automatic Scholarship [$500]  Application due: 06/15/2012  Criteria: GPA +2.75, continuing education in Fall 2012.  Apply at: http://www.transmissionkamloops.com/kamloops.html

BigSun Scholarship [$500]  Application due: 06/22/2012  Criteria: High school senior or be attending a post secondary institute and currently involved in some sport at that institution or in the community.   Apply at: http://www.bigsunathletics.com   

Mi Pueblo Scholarship [$500-2,500]  Criteria: Graduating high school senior, Demonstrate strong educational motivation and commitment to compete on a collegiate level. iFluRtz Scholarship  [up to $2,000]  Application due: 07/30/2012  Criteria: Must be under the age of 20, a leader, innovator or achiever.  Apply at: http://www.iflurtz.com/scholarship

Other opportunities

DeVry University Scholarship [$1,500/semester]  Application due: one year after high school graduation.  Criteria: Must attend DeVry University.  Open to all 2011-2012 high school graduates and GED recipients.  Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.8 on a 4.0 scale or ACT composite score of 22 or higher or SAT combined math and critical reading of 1000 or higher.  Apply at: See Ms. Mora for more information. 

Migrant Farmworker Scholarship [$150-2,500]  Application due: varies, check website for each specific award  Criteria: Recent history of movement for agricultural employment, scholastic achievement and financial need.  There may be additional requirements for some of the scholarships  AB540 student may apply.  Apply at: http://www.migrant.net/migrant/scholarships.htm 

Walmart Associate Scholarship [varies]  Application due: varies, check website for each specific award  Criteria: Must be a US citizen or Legal Resident.  Must be employed part-time or full-time with any division of Walmart for at least six consecutive months prior to the appropriate application due date.  Must have financial need and be able to demonstrate the need with required documents.  Apply at: https://www.act.org/walmart/associate/
