Here is an updated online scholarship list.  Check opportunities for all students grade 9-12.  Click here.

2018 Local Scholarship Application due Thursday, March 15, 2018 at 3:15 pm

The local scholarship are scholarships provided from community organizations. These providers like to see students from their community succeed and, therefore, offer scholarships only to Watsonville High School seniors.   There is one application and students will be considered for several of them. You will need to complete the application in one sitting. Read below for important information.

You will need the following information for the application before you begin:

  • List of extracurricular activities
  • community service
  • sports
  • school and community awards and honors
  • employment information
  • Parent’s Tax information (household size and Family’s annual income)
  • Personal statement(see below for details)

Submit online by March 15, 2018 at 3:15pm

Personal Statement:

You may include the following:

  • What has shaped you as a person?
  • What are your educational and career goals?
  • Why have you chosen these goals?
  • How do you envision making a contribution to your community after you complete your education?
  • Include any special circumstances or unusual hardships.

Scholarship Check List: To be considered you must provide the following:

Hard copy documents:

  • Recent Photograph
  • Copy of your parents’ 2016 tax form
  • FAFSA/Dream Act confirmation Page

Cash for College (Financial Aid Workshop) February 15th  5:30pm-7:30pm

 
Seniors and Parents/Guardians,
 
Watsonville High School will be holding our second Cash for College event on February 15th from 5:30pm-7:30pm in the WHS Library. This workshop is for seniors and their parents to complete the FAFSA or Dream Act application. There will be financial aid experts to help students through the application process. Please bring your chromebook and the following documents:
 
*Your Social Security Number
*Your Permanent Resident Card (if you are not a U.S. citizen)
*Your 2016 federal income tax returns, W-2s, and other records of money earned. (Note: You may be able to transfer your federal tax return information into your FAFSA using the IRS Data Retrieval Tool.)
*Bank statements and records of investments (if applicable)
*Records of untaxed income (if applicable)
*An FSA ID to sign electronically.
FSA ID You and 1 parent must apply online for a FSA ID to submit your FAFSA.  You and your parent must have a valid separate email address to apply for a FSA ID.
